Ultimate Source — Quick-Draws.com

Quick-Draws is the official source for scheduling information. You would be well served to bookmark the following link, which takes you directly to the VDSL on Quick-Draws:

http://www.quick-draws.com/TeamLeagues/League.php?lid=103

Quick_Draws is the place to report all scores. And, to view league standings.

If any captain does not know their password, please check with your club organizer. If they can't help you, contact Rick Kochanski, or Lynn Broman.

Captains should check their profile to see that all is correct. Be aware that phone numbers and email address are available for anyone caring to look it up on the Quick-Draws web site. If you are new to Quick-Draws, see the Unofficial City Doubles site at Sport Central for some assistance:

Squash BC Membership

Squash BC membership is a requirement for players in the Vancouver Doubles Squash League. Captains will not be able to enter a player without a current membership onto their team list on the Quick-Draws site.

Schedule & Pre-Match Preparation

The schedule indicates:
Date & start time of team matches,
Venue, and
Host & Vistor team.

Captains should be in touch with each other prior to a match.

All matches are played on Wednesdays. There are two start times, 6pm and 8pm.

If there is a #1 and #2 side, best plays best and better plays better. Host club has the final say, however captains should be accommodating to teams where a player may have difficulty playing at a particular time.

As is done in singles league, the second match commences at the conclusion of the first match.

There are no matches scheduled during the weeks when there is a local doubles tournament.

Host Responsibilities

The host club (regardless of venue) is responsible for:
providing match balls, score sheets, & refreshments, and
keeping a record of match scores and reporting match scores via Quick-Draws.

Marking/refereeing, by the host club, is encouraged for all matches.

A handy sheet for recording match details is available on Sports Central web site.

Clubs often have a supply of one or both styles of doubles score sheets. If not, check the links section below.

Take care to notice if you are designated as the host club. Be aware that on some occasions you will be the host club but not playing at home. On those occasions when you are host but not playing at your own club, step up promptly to ensure the socializing is covered financially.

Recording & Reporting Results

The host club is responsible for reporting full details of matches promptly. Captains need to know the match scores (ie 3/2, 3/1, or 3/0) and the names of all four players. Each game won adds to a team's total.

This season we will be instituting penalties for the late recording of weekly results. See the draft rules. Given the newness of this penalty, there will be a two week adjustment period. Penalties will begin with the October 21 matches.

If we are unable to record the penalties on the Quick-Draws site, we will keep track through the season, and apply them to each affected team's season results before determining who is in the playoffs.

In addition, all matches involving Squash BC members, will be used to adjust players provincial rankings.
